Qube Posters

These posters were created for various events held by the UW-Stout LGBTQIA+ Resource center (the Qube). All layout and design choices were done by me, including the creation of digital illustrations for each poster.

To advertise the upcoming cookout event, I used pastel colors and a gradient background that resemble the same colors of a summer evening. I created illustrations of the various activities that would occur during the event to give people an idea of what it would be about.

Wednesdays are a time for people to enter the Qube's space, grab a drink and relax. I kept the poster simple, creating a dynamic image of a mug and using warm colors to evoke that fun, warm and relaxed feel.

This event dealt with having difficult conversations about Queer identities over Thanksgiving. I incorporated the image of a traditional Thanksgiving meal with pride flags scattered across the table to represent the complex discussions being Queer can bring up during family gatherings.

An event featuring a fun night of playing video games, I used bright colors, the imagery of hand-held game consoles, and a techno font that evokes the feel of an arcade.

This was a one-day conference meant to enhance students skills in a global market. As this poster required a lot of information, I used visual hierarchy to guide the viewer through from the conference title to the specific details. I kept the font one color and used strong contrast between the illustration and the background to initially draw viewers in.

As this event focused on self-care, I used soft pastel colors against white, simple line drawings, and a smaller hand-written heading to create the feeling of calm.

As this was advertising a pride event in town, I used the colors and stripped shape of the pride flag alongside two colors of the trans flag to create the form of the text.
